The simplest and cheapest option, this can be deployed on any PABX solution and can also be used with VOIP solutions (via FXS interfaces) where it is not required to install a VOIP telephone in the remote unit.
Digital telephones are now the commonest way to provide PABX services. Hands free facilities enable announcements to be made without answering in the shop. Single key calling is possible to implement special services
The phones resemble standard digital telephones except they connect to data wiring. A number of different phones are available with different protocols and most can be used with TecAlert.
If a VOIP communications system is deployed, on screen telephone options are available for PCs and for PC based cash registers. This is, of course, subject to agreement by the cash register maintainer.
If there is no requirements to talk, a simple alarm panel can be used. This is connected to the data network and provides an alarm buzzer, an LCD display and keypad. It is powered locally. Alarms are signalled audibly in the shops and details is shown on the display. Shops can initiate alarms using the keypad.
A locking emergency button can be deployed in conjunction with any of the above options although some care must be taken in the selection of telephones.
