December 2010 - COMS ported to .NET
The completion of a 12 month project to port the COMS document rendering engine to .NET was announced. This will provide users of the product many new features and ensures that the product keeps up with the evolving Microsoft technical platform. The system design features include:
- Fault tolerant xml parser
- Fully recursive content generation allows any template concepts to be realised
- 300% faster rendering time
- Improved diagnostics
- Compatible with .NET 3.5 and above and SQL Server 2008 and above.
August 2009 - COMS at Mobile Phone Retailer
The COMS product was selected by Get-Connected, the largest independant mobile phone retailer in the UK with over 70 shops. It is spearheading their web marketing offering new phone sales and upgrades. The system includes:
- Interactive product selection
- E-commerce facilities
- Customer service tools
November 2008 - TecAlert installed in Bicester Village
The TecAlert alarm system was installed at Value Retail's shopping village at Bicester, north of London. This comprises a distributed telephone system using Vegastream VOIP equipment and the TecAlert alarm handling software installed in the security control room.
1 January 2007 - COMS System Release 22
System Release 22 of Square Solutions Web Content Management Systems, COMS, is announced. This provides a number of important functional improvement:
- Blogging facility added
- Polling and Quizzes added
- Podcast facility added
- Slide shows facility added
A new workbench has been developed and will be released at the end of February 2007. This provides a "Windows" feel to the development procedd
1 September 2006 TecAlert Enhancements
Our TecAlert product has two new facilities added
- Remote units can sign in at the start of day and sign out at the end. Logs are kept of unit opening hours. Security staff can see the status of a unit at a glance
- VOIP interfaces to Norstar and other systems are now supported
1 April 2006 COMS takes over at Cardiff Council
Today our COMS system took over operation of Cardiff Council's public web site. Coinciding with the launch of a new Education plan, the site had over 30,000 visitors on its first day.
